HEMS LINE PILOTS

Critical Care Concepts Line Pilots are responsible to insure all operations involving company and client aircraft are in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, Critical Care Concepts Operations Manual, and all state or municipal regulations. The Line pilot will insure the aircraft remains clean and mission ready and operates the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, with emphasis on compliance with the Aircraft Flight Manual.

To be considered for this position you must meet the following criteria listed below.

MINIMUM PILOT QUALIFICATIONS
(Required at Date of Hire):

  • 1,500 Total Time
  • 1,000 Helicopter Time
  • 500 PIC
  • 50 Night Unaided
  • 250 Hours Turbine Engine Time
  • Must currently meet and maintain a weight of 220 lbs.
  • Commercial Rotorcraft Helicopter Certificate with Helicopter Instrument Rating
  • Current Class II Medical Certificate
  • High School/GED




FLIGHT PARAMEDIC EMPLOYMENT

A flight paramedic serves multiple roles within the Critical Care Concepts organization. The flight paramedic performs as the crew chief and ground safety officer while aboard the helicopter, ensuring safe operations during loading and unloading. The flight paramedic also has the task of “fire watch” and maintaining aircraft safety during start-up procedures. While airborne to the scene or referring facility, the flight paramedic will assist the pilot with navigation, radio communications, air traffic avoidance and operation of the “Night Sun” as directed by the pilot.

After arrival at the scene or referring facility, the flight paramedic will work with the nurse or physician to assess the patient and provide a systematic plan of care during each mission.

Requirements for employment as a Critical Care Concepts flight paramedic mirror the requirements for hiring by the Commission of Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS).

  • Valid State and National Registry of EMT’s (NREMT-P) Paramedic Certification without any infractions or disciplinary procedures in the past.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, (BCLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
  • CCEMT-P and/or MICP
  • FP-C within six months of hire




PHYSICIANS

  • Valid State Medical Board License to Practice Medicine, Physician must have a good reference history and no infractions or limitations to his/her ability to practice medicine.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, (BCLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)

 

 

 

 




NURSES

  • Valid and unrestricted State or Multi-State agreement Registered Nursing License with no infractions.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, (BCLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Certification in one of the following highly desired

  • Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC)
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN)
  • Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN)
  • Certification in Emergency Nursing Certification (CEN)
  • Certified Transport Registered Nurse (CTRN)
